Resolution Life Voluntary Cover Portal

This portal allows employees (and Spouses of employees where available) to view, amend and organise payment for the voluntary cover that is owned by their employer and provided for the benefit of their employees under the employer’s group insurance policy.

Employers may also provide default cover in respect of all eligible employees. The voluntary cover provided under the group insurance policy is generally provided in addition to any default insurance cover, as the employer recognises that the default cover may not suit the unique circumstances of each employee.

It is recommended that employees discuss their financial circumstances and needs with a financial adviser before they amend or cancel the voluntary insurance cover provided under their employer’s group insurance policy.

What is voluntary cover?

Voluntary Cover is an extra flexibility that your employer has chosen to provide. It allows you to tailor the life insurance within the employer’s policy to more closely reflect your financial needs and those of your family.

Your employer will ultimately decide how you can pay for the voluntary cover.

Depending on what your employer decides, we can accept premium payments by:

  • Credit Card

  • Direct Debit

  • Salary Deductions (i.e. your employer will deduct the premium from your pay)

Preferred regularity of payments:

  • Monthly in advance

  • Annually in advance

Generally, no. If a person needs to be assessed as part of an application for Voluntary Cover, most applications will only require the provision of a completed Personal Statement questionnaire, which we use to determine if cover can be provided, and on what terms. However, in some circumstances, further information may be required, which can include a medical exam.

Generally yes. By signing in you will see the options your employer has made available. This may include:

  • Applying for an increase in Voluntary Cover.

  • Reducing the amount of Voluntary Cover.

  • Adjusting the Benefit Period of the income protection cover (if available).

The alterations available with Voluntary Cover will depend on the rules of your employer's group insurance policy.
